Salvatore “Sal” DeGennaro is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in Adult Gerontology. He is committed to delivering holistic, patient-centered care that addresses not only acute and chronic conditions but also the overall well-being of each individual.

Sal earned his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Rutgers University, then went on to complete his master’s in Adult Gerontology Primary Care. Prior to his nursing career, Sal worked as an emergency medical technician (EMT) and paramedic, responding to emergencies across northern New Jersey. His background also includes extensive experience as a Fire Captain with North Hudson Fire and Rescue, as well as service in the United States Marine Corps from 2005 to 2009.

A passionate advocate for high-quality care, Sal is dedicated to fostering compassionate, holistic treatment for his patients. His broad clinical expertise, combined with his deep commitment to patient advocacy, allows him to provide comprehensive care that emphasizes both medical and emotional well-being.

What hormone optimization and HRT services do you offer?

All treatments are medically supervised with regular lab monitoring.

Do you offer same-day appointments or walk-in visits?

Yes. We often accommodate same-day appointments for urgent needs, acute illness, and new patient consultations. Walk-in availability is limited — we recommend calling ahead to ensure we can see you promptly.

What rapid testing do you provide?

We offer several rapid in-office tests including rapid strep, rapid flu, rapid COVID-19, urine analysis, and pregnancy testing. Results are typically available within minutes, allowing for faster diagnosis and treatment during your visit.

Can I get primary care and weight loss treatment at the same visit?

Absolutely. As a full-service primary care practice, we integrate weight management, hormone optimization, and general health needs into one seamless plan. Many patients address multiple concerns during the same appointment.

Are you accepting new patients in Freehold and Monmouth County?

Currently we are working to get credentialed through most insurance carriers however at the moment it is self-pay.

Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Yes. Telehealth visits are available for established patients and many new patient consultations, including weight loss follow-ups, medication management, and chronic condition reviews.
